Job Summary:
The Preclinical TIL Cell Therapy Research team is seeking an experienced and driven Research Scientist with a strong background in immune-oncology and T cell biology to advance anti-tumor cell therapies using tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs). This position will lead efforts for development and optimization of TIL derived T cell therapy against solid tumor malignancies.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and optimization of TIL isolation and expansion from tumor tissues, including conceiving and developing novel in vitro assays/models to evaluate T cell functionality;
Foster the development of new programs in solid tumor malignancy indications, including identifying key mechanisms of therapeutic resistance in the tumor microenvironment;
Provide mentorship and guidance for outlining studies to junior team members.
Qualifications & Experience:
Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell or Cancer Biology, or a related field with at least 3 years of experience, postdoctoral training included;
Prior experience in cell therapy preferred, though a track record of oncology drug discovery in other treatment modalities such as biologics or small molecules may also be valuable;
Expertise in assessing T cell biology and activity through typically utilized functional assays measuring cellular activation, cytokine release, proliferation, and cytotoxicity;
Strong organizational as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are required to communicate project status and strategy to leadership.
